As I continue to work on my golf swing, I constantly watch YouTube to self-diagnose the symptoms of being stuck around a 20-handicap. Yes, lessons would help, but I’m still teaching myself.
One of the areas where I continue to struggle is my trail foot action. By videoing myself, it is clear that the heel of my trail foot comes off the ground entirely too early in the golf swing. Given that I struggle to draw the ball, with this early heel movement off the ground, I’m convinced this is causing me to swipe across the ball from out to in.
As my playing partners may hear me say to myself on occasion, “Keep the heel of your trail foot DOWN, Ramsey!”
